Why support zebra companies?

As investors, entrepreneurs, and government officials, we have questioned the ways of companies, finance, and society.

There are many entrepreneurs and managers who have excellent backgrounds and work on businesses with significant social value.

However, there are challenges regarding cooperation and the limited offer of sustainable growth strategies based on the existing standards.

"Different scale, Different future: if there were a different standard, there could be different growth and a different future."

To prove that, we are committed to supporting zebra companies.

WHAT ARE ZEBRAS?

What are zebra companies?

The term of zebra was born as an antithesis to "unicorn" which aims to monopolize the market in a short period of time and maximize their market capitalization.

It is a general term for companies that pursue both social and economic goals and value mutual benefit and coexistence as a group.

They are likened to zebras because their black-and-white "zebra" pattern shows as reconciling conflicting goals of "corporate profits" and "solving social problems."
They constantly question the roles they play in society and aim to make all stakeholders happy in the long run.

What we do

Even if excellent entrepreneurs and business leaders work on socially meaningful projects, there are limits to what one company can accomplish. To address this challenge, we not only invest in and participate in the management of zebra companies but also collaborate with governments, financial institutions, and academic institutions both in Japan and overseas to create a movement and community that support zebras.

In addition to our investment and collaboration efforts, we also focus on the visualization and theorization of management of zebra.
